Louis Sneak Peek

If you poke around the website, you'll see a lot more of this face. This was our third shoot together, and he definitely made me work for these pictures! We ran around Broad Ripple Park for a couple of hours, and I got a ton of great shots. This is just a small preview.

Emmeline & Eloise | Twice as Nice

Disclaimer: These are my nieces and I'm therefore biased. You're lucky I limited myself to 14 pictures.

Despite planning the pictures for right after a mid-morning snack, the girls were  in no mood to have their pictures taken. Even with some starts and stops, there were some pretty adorable pictures, and I can't believe how much their personalities are coming out at just four months. I'm sad that we are so far away from them, but happy that every time we visit I will be able to capture them as they are at that point in time.

See what I mean? In no mood for pictures.

This one cracks my up every time I look at it.

My sister-in-law looks beautiful. (And I suppose my brother doesn't look to shabby, either).

This one cracks me up, too. There is a whole series of them looking at each other that is too cute for words.

She had just woken up. She had no idea what was in store.

Harry's Baptism | Indianapolis Portrait Photographer

If you remember, I first met Harry when he was just 14 weeks. He's now 7 months old, and had a very big day a couple of Sundays ago. He was baptized and took the whole ceremony in stride.

He really enjoyed spending time with his Godparents!

Obligatory Spring Flowers Post

I wasn't going to do a flowers post this year. I mean, there's only so much you can do with flowers without a macro lens. But winter hung on for so long this year that I got so happy when the flowers started to bloom, and I thought we could all use a bit of spring. I'm still waiting for the tulips, the lilac bush, and the magnolia tree, but the signs of the season are here - finally!

Even Pete and Maggie are enjoying the weather. They spent some time laying in the sun this afternoon. We played fetch in the backyard, then Maggie ate grass and chewed on the lilac branches. (That's totally normal, right?)

Celebrating Blue II - Butler's Mascot, America's Dog

I'll admit that I was tardy to the Blue II party (no, not the actual party). I knew Butler had a live mascot, but it wasn't until the start of the 2011 NCAA Tournament (yes, 2011) that I came across Blue's Twitter account (I was also late to the Twitter party). It didn't take long for me to become smitten. I knew when Trip came on the scene in 2012 that it wouldn't be long before Blue turned over the reins. The expected (but still sad) announcement came earlier this year. I made sure to clear my calendar when the 9th birthday/retirement party was scheduled. Maybe I would finally get a picture of America's Dog! (Spoiler alert - I did.)

Treats were provided by Holy Cow! Cupcakes and Insomnia Cookies. I tried the blue velvet cupcake. It was delicious, as are all of Holy Cow's cupcakes.

Trip was hanging out, too. He's got big shoes to fill, but I think he's up for the task. He was posing for pictures like, well, Blue.

The Butler Bookstore has a couple of special Blue II items (for the time being). I already grabbed mine up. I think this poster would look even better signed, yes?

I'll admit I was a little teary-eyed at the Changing of the Collar Ceremony, but I think we'd all agree Blue deserves some relaxation. I wish I'd had the chance to do an actual Blue photo shoot, but I'm happy to take pictures of retired mascots, too.

He sure does look happy doing his job, though, doesn't he? Happy birthday, Blue, and enjoy your retirement. Thanks for all the memories, pictures, and videos!
